The Omega Speedmaster is a legendary name in watchmaking and has legions of fans. Though known today for its connection to space travel and use as the “moonwatch”, the Speedmaster was initially created to serve the needs of automobile racing. This model pays homage to that history and leverages the latest in watchmaking technology. The stainless steel watch case is 44.25mm in diameter, 50mm lug to lug, and water resistant to 50m. True to Speedmaster tradition, the case is topped with a black ceramic bezel with the tachymeter scale in Liquidmetal and wording in orange. The matte black dial is printed with printed with a racing style minute track, has two sub-dials ringed in blackened applied rings, and a color-matched date window at 6 o’clock. The main time hands are in orange (with Super Luminova) to match details on the dial, with the chronograph hands in white. The indices are made of 18K white gold and have Super Luminova, with a sapphire crystal that is anti-reflective coated on both sides for readability. The “Speedmaster” wordmark and the tip of the chronograph central seconds in orange to match other details on the dial and bezel.

The heritage inspired Speedmaster Racing uses the beautiful and capable self-winding Co-Axial Caliber 9900, visible behind a sapphire case back, and comes with Omega’s 5-year warranty. This modern caliber is a Certified Master Chronometer, resistant to magnetic fields, uses silicon components and a free sprung balance for long-term reliability, provides a 60-hour power reserve, and a time zone function for your travel needs. It features a central seconds hand for the chronograph, with the left sub-dial showing running seconds, and the right sub-dial the chronograph’s 60-minute and 12-hour hands in a highly readable format. This model comes on a micro-perforated black leather strap with orange rubber lining and a folding clasp.
