Grand Seiko’s SBGE277 is part of the Sport Collection. This sport watch is housed in a robust 44mm stainless steel case that is 50.8mm lug to lug and 14.7mm thick, with a curved sapphire crystal and screw down crown providing 200m of water resistance. Inside it has the Spring Drive 9R66 Caliber (assembled and adjusted by hand at the Shinshu Watch Studio) provides a smooth sweeping seconds hand with an astonishing precision of +/- 15 seconds per month, unprecedented for a watch powered by a mainspring. The beautiful movement provides GMT functionality, 72 hours of power reserve, is anti-magnetic, and secured behind a screw-in titanium case back. The “Flyer GMT” capability adds a 24-hour hand and allows you to adjust the main hour hand in one-hour jumps, backwards or forwards.

Grand Seiko is known for intricate dials and incredible casework utilizing Zaratsu polishing to create a mirror finish. The dial of this watch is inspired by the color and texture of the Hotaka mountain range, which were created by volcanic activity, with sharp ridges and sheer cliffs, even when carved by the wind and snow over millennia, reveal nature at its most dramatic. The dual-colored bi-directional rotating sapphire 24-hour bezel, broad hands (with bright red GMT hand), and dial are generously filled with Lumibrite for high legibility in all light conditions. A date window and crown at 4 o’clock provide a very comfortable wrist experience, and a power reserve indicator at 8 o’clock provides status. This Grand Seiko comes on a five-link polished and satin finished bracelet with a three-fold clasp and two half links to finely adjust the fit.
