Grand Seiko’s SBGA429 is a US Special Edition known as the “Soko Shadow”. The Soko Shadow is part of the Heritage Collection, housed in a 39mm stainless steel case that is 46.8mm lug to lug, with a curved sapphire crystal and screw down crown that provides 100m of water resistance. The Spring Drive 9R65 Caliber (assembled and adjusted by hand at the Shinshu Watch Studio) provides a smooth sweeping seconds hand with an astonishing precision of +/- 15 seconds per month, unprecedented for a watch powered by a mainspring. The beautiful movement provides 72 hours of power reserve, is anti-magnetic, and visible behind a sapphire case back.

Grand Seiko is known for intricate dials and incredible casework utilizing Zaratsu polishing to create a mirror finish. This watch celebrates sokō – the end of autumn where the first frost embraces the forest, with interplay of light and shadow. The green seconds hand and power reserve indicator evoke Kyoto’s Arashiyama bamboo forest and play wonderfully against the vertical texture of the beautiful grey dial. In addition to the beautiful bracelet, the Soko Shadow comes with a crocodile alligator strap with a push button deployant buckle.
